Piku: The Tale of a Tiger is a 2013 Indian biographical sports drama film[8] written and directed by Deepa Mehta and produced by Krishan Krishan and Ramesh Sippy. It is based on the life of Indian tennis player Somdev Devvarman, who fought to become the first Indian player to win the US Men's Tennis Open (in 2005). The film stars Devvarman in the lead role along with Navneet Nishandar, Aashish Kaul, Deepti Naval and Akhilendra Mishra in pivotal supporting roles. It was released on 11 September 2013.
Jab We Met is a 2013 Bollywood romantic comedy film[6] directed by Imtiaz Ali and produced by T-Series. The film stars Ali and Bipasha Basu in the lead roles.[1][7] Anant Nag, Sonali Kulkarni and Rajesh Sharma play supporting roles. The film follows the story of two people who meet for the first time after one of them posts a picture of him on an internet dating website, and how their relationship forms. The film was released in the United States on 26 September 2013.
The film was announced in October 2012[12] and the first look of the film was released on 15 November 2012.[13] It was released on 16 August 2013, to mixed reviews.[14][15] In January 2014, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said the film promoted the struggle of Tamils in Sri Lanka and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the movie well at the 61st National Film Awards.[16] Madras Cafe was released in multiple languages in India.[17]
The film made its worldwide release on 16 April 2013.
The film was declared a hit at the box office and received positive reviews from critics. John Abraham received the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut while Nargis Fakhri received the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.
