The syntax is as follows:
URL - Specifies a location in the Slackware repository mirror to download the required packages. This must be a valid URL or a file path to a file.
mirrorlist - Specifies a file containing a list of mirrors that are used to perform the downloads. This list will be passed to the rsync program to download the required packages.
key - If a file path of a file containing the rsync key is specified, then the key will be used to decrypt the packages and perform the package downloads. If this key is not specified, then the user will be prompted to enter the key (for security reasons).
[slackware-backports]
URL: ftp://archive.slackware.org/pub/slackware/slackware-backports/
mirrorlist: ftp://mirrorlist.slackware.com/mirrorlist/slackware-backports.mirrorlist
The following example would use the url:ftp://archive.slackware.org/pub/slackware/slackware-backports/ and the list of mirrors found in mirrorlist:ftp://mirrorlist.slackware.com/mirrorlist/slackware-backports.mirrorlist. The packages would then be automatically decrypted for package downloads. The packages would be downloaded to the specified directory by the rsync program.
Once you have configured your repository, you will want to test it. This can be done by running pkg_add --test on the remote repository or by downloading the packages and running pkg_test -c on the local repository. 827ec27edc
