The Rock and Roll Playhouse has detailed its plans to bring families together through celebrating music and educating the next generation as the holiday season rolls in nationwide. The family concert series will welcome parents and their little ones at 17 venues across the country over this weekend alone.
As always, each experience will be unique and carefully curated so families can dance and sing along to the music of iconic rockers in an interactive and educational live music experience. Programming is scheduled into the new year and will introduce the music and legacy of acts like David Bowie, the Rolling Stones, the Grateful Dead, Aretha Franklin, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen and more in the coming months.
Playing, cruising and creeking in one boat. This kayak is a sporty river runner with an enormous fun factor. Thanks to its fast and agile shape, this boat combines the dynamics of a riverrunner with the safety of a creeker. It has enough rocker and volume to climb up over big holes, a sporty stern for a lot of fun and a planing hull for when you find an inviting river wave.
The Steeze has a creek boat nose with lots of rocker to keep you moving forward whilst cutting the volume off the tail to enable you to whippy and pivot turn. It also comes with a pod for extra volume if needed.
Who is Hjerpe? The best word to describe Hjerpe's left-handed delivery is funky. Coming from a low release point with some cross-body motion, the deception makes it extremely difficult for hitters to pick up the ball coming out of his hand -- think somewhere between Chris Sale and Josh Hader. While his upside in the majors isn't quite that level of pitcher, his 2022 stats at Oregon State speak for themselves: 11-2 record, 2.53 ERA and 161 strikeouts with only 23 walks allowed in 103.1 innings.
To get started, first, download the PDF and print 11×17 templates (make sure you are printing the templates to scale). You should have four template pieces. Three of the templates for the middle section need to be glued together with tape. The X on the bottom and top of the template sheets need to align. The other template has two smaller pieces for the ends of the rocker board.
There are several ways to join the boards, such as dowels and wood glue, but for this project, we will use pocket hole screws. Before drilling the pocket holes, figure out which side would be the inside and which side would be the outside. You want to have the better-looking side of the rocker on the outside.
OK. Back to Kravitz, the charismatic rocker who hadn't played Boston since 2012. Talk about star power; this hitmaker has it! And at age 50, he's still got those movie star looks that send women and more than a few men into hysterics. Dressed in distressed bluejeans (guess he ditched the leather trousers after his unfortunate wardrobe malfunction earlier this month), he came out like gangbusters.
My one complaint: Too many songs went on for far too long, sapping the momentum mid-set. "Always on the Run," a high energy rocker, exceeded 20 minutes and featured extended trumpet, sax, keyboard, drum and guitar solos (what, no bass solo? What's another three minutes? Dorsey's a brilliant player who's gigged with everyone from Bowie, Tears For Fears and Bryan Ferry; her intro to "Under Pressure" was always a highlight of Bowie's concerts.)
As indie rockers Vampire Weekend looked out at thousands of colorfully dressed fans scattered across the lawn of Indianapolis' oldest park Saturday evening, the group began a psychedelic shred through their 2019 hit "Sunflower."
Children played in the playground and at a bouncy castle set up near one of the festival's three stages. Other attendees took shade under Garfield's large trees, decorated in colored paper, funky windchimes and dreamcatchers.
Shouts of, "This is the best experience of my life!" rang through the crowd as the New York indie rockers played fan favorites from their four studio albums. Those who had set up camp at the Music Elevates stage for this moment danced in the drizzle, stowing away the Uno cards and snacks they used to pass the prior seven hours.
Wait, "Palm phone"? That Palm? Yep, this phone, which is called "Palm" and from the company "Palm" (so the Palm Palm?) is a newly formed zombie brand made from the ashes of the legendary Palm Inc, the very same company that created the Palm Pilot, the Palm Treo, and WebOS. After bombing out in the smartphone market circa 2010 and selling to HP, Chinese firm TCL bought the rights to Palm back in 2014 and announced plans to resurrect the company in 2015. The corpse of Palm remained still for several years, but the right combination of a full moon, or lightning strike, or something roused the company back to life just last month. Zombie Palm's first product is this tiny, Verizon-exclusive smartphone with a not-so-tiny price tag of $350.
The Palm phone isn't a great music player thanks to the lack of a headphone jack and physical volume rocker. Sure, you can pair Bluetooth headphones to it, but you can also just pair Bluetooth headphones to your smartwatch, which is going to be smaller and more portable.
