Nakula's slave girl comes and tells him that he is ill. He asks her to take the chariot to his father, who is ailing. The chariot gets stuck while going down a steep slope. Arjun comes and offers to help. The pair fight and kill many armed warriors. The chariot then gets stuck in a river. Arjun and Nakula swim ashore. The pair, in the nude, douse themselves with water to destroy their weapons and with help of the fish, they swim the river.
Arjun takes his bow and bows to everyone. He then sees his father, Dhritarashtra, and bows to him. He is then shown, by Duryodhana, the kingdom of Hastinapur and is asked to be the king of this kingdom. Arjun does not want this kingdom but refuses to be its king, for he is loyal to his foster father, Drona. The Kaurava princes, including Duryodhana, rebel against Dharmaraja and threaten his life. Arjun, as a Dushyanta, attacks the rebel Kauravas and is badly defeated, but he kills them all, including Drona, and becomes ruler of the kingdom. Duryodhana is shown to be alive and the leader of the Kaurava army.
Arjun and Nakula arrive at Dhritarashtra's palace, where they are welcomed by his two wives, Gandhari and Kunti. The two kings give him news of Karna's death. The brothers remain in the palace for a few days. Arjun goes to the forest, where he meets Rama, the twin brother of the great archer, Vayu.
Duryodhana plotted the great war. He got the army assembled. But he was not able to decide on who should be his leader. There was no one to whom he could entrust the responsibilities of the war. There was not one prince who could defeat the Pandavas. All of them were scared of the wrath of Arjuna, the Pandavas' brother. The Kaurvas, on the other hand, were not scared of Arjuna. All of them were united in defeating the Pandavas. Duryodhana could not decide on whom to trust. Finally, he asked Yudhisthira to be the leader of the war.
Yudhisthira underwent rigorous training from Drona, who was already more than eighty years old, and became an excellent warrior. Over a period of thirteen years, Drona taught him the art of warfare. Yudhisthira learned the art with supreme devotion. He started to rule over a kingdom as a good king. He had a wife and two sons.
As time passed by, Yudhisthira became more and more ashamed of his kingdom. He retired from the world in a state of depression. Once, he became ill and was bedridden for several days, and he saw Krishna as a child. He then asked Drona to teach him the art of warfare. To his surprise, Drona readily agreed and told him that he would teach him without charging a fee, but that he could only learn the art of war with his sincere and full dedication. Yudhisthira set himself to learn from Drona with more than his due sense of obedience.
On his way back to Hastinapur, Arjun stopped at the banks of Ganga and was meditating. He took the Ganga water in his hands and sprinkled it on his body. He came out of the water as a full-grown warrior and revealed himself to be the son of the river. He was the reincarnation of Parashurama, a great warrior of the Hindu religion. He was in love with the river, the Ganga, for he had committed no crime. But the Ganga didn't want to be with him and teased him. 827ec27edc
